Theresa’s Haven is a 39-unit Tier II, transitional housing facility. This much-needed service opened its doors on December 12, 1994, under the direction of Brenda J. Hart, Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The mission of Theresa’s Haven is to provide transitional housing that is dedicated to offering quality housing services to families in need. We believe that with compassion and dedication, we can provide families and their children with a brighter future. By creating a professional, respectful and understanding environment, we open doors for families and children to experience more success in their lives.
Theresa’s Haven supports the overall Family Support Systems’ mission of strengthening homeless families by assisting them in becoming self-sufficient, contributing members of society. We offer our families a number of services that include :
- Housing - once families arrive at the facility, they are referred to the on-site Housing Specialist, where assistance is provided throughout the entire housing process.

- Child Care & After School Programs
- 24-Hour Safety
- Psychological Services
- Family Services - This department provides needs assessment, counseling, case management and crisis intervention, and independent living skills training to its residents.
- Referral Services for :
- Domestic violence
- Education
- Mental Health
- Substance abuse treatment
- Vocational training
- Weekly workshops are conducted on such topics as: female support groups, parenting skills, cooking, arts and crafts, and improving marital relationships.
